Reasons for the increase in number of sexually abusive coaches and teachers
It seems that news reports about teachers being arrested for sexual abuse and misbehavior involving their students, some as young as 11 years old, have grown more regular in recent months. Schools are supposed to be a safe place for kids, but these arrests show that kids aren't always as safe as we'd like them to be when they go to school. So, why is the number of incidents of sexual misbehavior, sexually abusive coaches and teachers , and teacher-student interactions suddenly increasing? It might be attributed in part to increased transparency as schools attempt to reveal what they previously kept secret and dealt with on their own. The usage of social media and cell phones, however, is most likely to blame for the growing trend.
